Personalised Learning ‘ No Child Left Behind ’
Differentiation is the tailoring of teaching methodology, curriculum and learning support to meet the needs and aspirations of individual learners.
Students with learning difficulties at Egypt British International School have a personalised learning programme that is tailored to meet his or her individual needs. Individual academic targets are set for each student and monitored throughout the year.
Tracking of student performance and continuous assessment forms an essential part of each student`s individual learning plan at Egypt British International School.
Every teacher is trained to make well founded judgments about each student’s levels and potential and knows how to use these judgments to tailor the learning experience for each student.
Parents/Guardians are kept well informed of their child`s progress, what their child needs to do to improve and how they can support their child’s progress.
We understand that the learning process is just as important as the learning outcomes. Lessons are structured so that students actively contribute to the learning process. In addition to the acquisition of knowledge we place great emphasis on analytical skills and the exploration of understanding.
Egypt British International School uses a range of internationally recognized standardized tests to measure student’s academic progress and potential. These include CAT testing as part of the admissions procedure, termly testing throughout primary and secondary using systems such as PiRA, PUMA and Edexcel ILower Secondary as well as the IGCSE, AS and A Levels. Using such a range of testing allows us to accurately measure student’s achievement as well as confidently predict the potential for any student in the school. This allows us to provide a smooth transition for students who have joined us from a national setting or for those who will transition into higher education here or in an international setting.
Egypt British International School has developed one of the leading Modern Foreign Languages programs with students learning French or German from the beginning of Key Stage 1, Students undertake a course of study in either language until they reach Key stage 4 where they have the opportunity to study up to and including A Level. Our relationships with institutions such as the Goethe institute and PASCH accreditation allow our students to be part of a worldwide network promoting the importance of Foreign Languages.
