We believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs, have an entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Our predominant aim is to provide specialist, tailored programs and provisions to help address individual learning needs for all of our children. The Support Department has experienced many new and exciting developments and has expanded considerably.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>The Learning\u00a0Support and SEN Department\u00a0maintains liaison with all staff members. This ensures that all members of staff are fully aware of the graduated response the school has in place and the school expectations regarding proficient delivery of the SEN provision.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>The school recognizes that the liaison with parents of children with SEN also has an integral part in the child\u2019s educational progress and the effectiveness of any school-based action. Parents should have an active and valued role in their child\u2019s education. We deliver a variety of individual, small group and in-class support sessions starting at EYFS level and continuing through to our KS3 pupils.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Our intervention programmes range from the following:<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0National Curriculum Reinforcement<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Read Write Inc. (general\/ intensive)<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Fresh Start Programme<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Shine Programme<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In class support<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Individual\/small group extraction sessions<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Social Skills Programmes<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>EBIS has established a specialized support provision to all pupils who require a differentiated approach to the mainstream teaching and learning methodology. \u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>The Learning Support Department offers a learning environment where the adult: child ratio is low and is enriched with multi-sensory resources to address multi-discipline teaching and learning styles. We have achieved inclusion for all by expertly planning and developing our\u00a0teaching styles and individual approaches. The National Curriculum is adapted to accommodate the individual needs of children within the Primary and Secondary phase.
