A DAY OF VICTORY AT THE COBIS PRIMARY GAMES IN ABU DHABI

Today has been a day of victory for Key Stage 2 children taking part in the COBIS Primary Games Abu Dhabi 2014, held at the British School Al Khubairat. The school has been competing against 14 other schools from all over the world in football, basketball and swimming, over the weekend, as the children make new friends and widen their cultural experiences .
The EBIS team’s phenomenal performance meant that the team came away with 5 gold medals and 1 bronze medal in swimming! Excellent swims by the boys gained the team a gold medal in the 50m butterfly.
The boys also had a successful day of racing in the 50m backstroke event securing a gold medal.
With impressive swims from the boys in the 50m freestyle event, they earned yet another gold medal.
Not only did the boys make superb achievements, yet the girls secured third place finishes, earning the school a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle event.
Their achievements are the product of hard work and unique talent, hot-housed in a ‘medal factory’. Over the academic year, the main emphasis has been on enjoyment, improving personal performances, skill development, fitness and participation by all as we trained for the COBIS Games. The school is very proud of their hard work and their successes.
